The best plants for indoor hydroponic gardening

I love this brand! The percentage of success I've had is probably 99%!
When deciding which seeds to plant, consider the space available. Refer to the seed package to determine the expected height of each plant. I have started many plants in my aero garden and then moved them to a separate container with nutrient solution and placed them under grow lights with much success, so don't feel like this will completely limit what you can plant. However, If Planting indoors, it's wise to choose Dwarf versions of veggies, such as space master cucumbers, sugar snap peas, and cherry tomatoes. These all do great and don't get as large. But definitely don't skip this step.
Many seeds grow well together, requiring similar pH and nutrient levels. For example, most herbs and lettuces sprout well in the same nutrient and lighting conditions. (Get my free Plant pH and nutrient level chart here)

How to plant seed pods into an Aero Garden or similar deep water culture system.
Here are the steps to plant your seed pods:
1. Presoak sponges :
If you are planting pods that already have the seed embedded, it only takes a 10-minute presoak. Then you can pop them into the system where you have set up your nutrient solution. If you are sowing the seeds in empty seed pod sponges, then soak them for 10 minutes as well before sowing your seeds.
Setting up your seeds for success.
To set up the perfect environment for planting your seeds, add the nutrients to a gallon of water according to the specifications listed on the bottle or bottles. I love the ones I use because they have an easy-to-follow chart on the back, and I find that I spend less time adjusting the pH levels after I add them. Always add 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide to your gallon of solution to ensure that your solution stays free of bacteria. Don't skip this step!!! (I had to learn this the hard way. No one told me about root rot, and it almost killed off my whole crop. I spent hours rinsing roots and soaking them in a peroxide water mix to save them.) If you opt to plant lettuce, I would encourage you to get a good Cal-Mag solution to add, as it helps prevent tip burn, which is a nutrient problem, not a light problem.

You must have a good Meter for testing the pH and the PPM (Nutrient levels )in your water. This is so you can keep an eye on the solution a couple of times a week to make sure that they always have the optimal conditions for strong propagation. Here is the one I got. It's very easy to use, and it was a good price.

Once you have added your prepared solution to the unit, it's time to plant your new seed babies!

2.Sow your seeds
Carefully pour out 2-3 seeds into the palm of your hand.

Then, with tweezers, place the seeds onto the pre-made hole about 1/3 " deep.

Prepare the lables with the name of whats plantedere...

Place the label carefully on the top of the seed pod.

Pop your seed pods into your system.

Many systems come with a quick plant option. This is great because it sets the lights to fifteen hours and circulates the water every hour. Also, it keeps track and lets you know when the plants need to be fed, usually every 2 weeks.( To keep it simple, I just keep them topped off with my premade solution.)
Its aslo important that your lights are about 4-6inches above your plants at all times.

Congradulations!! You just sowed your first hydroponic seeds!! Now just sit back and watch the magic happen!

This is the unit I got as a gift and I love it!
