Why a life curated by you can bring happiness...

Growing up in a household with a single parent and limited finances might not appear to be advantageous. However, when I reflect on my childhood and how it has positively influenced me, I realize it truly instilled in me the importance of maximizing what you possess, transforming it into something valuable in your life. For instance, enhancing the aesthetic of a place or taking something in need of repair and elevating it into a remarkable item that boosts your home's functionality.

This inclination has led me to develop a weird fascination with discovering the most economical methods to achieve desired outcomes in various projects. Whether it is refurbishing furniture, installing tiles on my backsplash, or repainting ugly tiles in my bathroom and shower, I can confidently say we have saved tens of thousands by learning the necessary skills to ensure our home and life operate smoothly without compromising on quality. I believe everyone possesses the potential to achieve similar results, and when we do, we experience a deep sense of fulfillment. Moreover, we experience personal growth, and we are in a better position to enrich the lives and experiences of those around us.

As I embarked on my writing journey, I pondered, "Hmmm, what topics would I find enjoyable to write about?" Given my extensive experience with a DIY lifestyle, which has contributed to my happiness and comfort, I recognized that this was my subject matter. I anticipate there will be something in it that resonates with everyone as I continue to publish more posts. Thank you for stopping by.

this was our kitchen when we bought our home. No horrible but dark, and out of date.

Here it is after we painted the walls and the cabinets, updated the backsplash, and changed the cabinet pulls. I love how bright and modern it came out.

I got this for a friend, but man, do I wish I would have had something like this when I got married. It takes the guesswork out of it and just gives you beautiful templates with everything you need. To check off so many to-dos so easily is a game-changer. Totally worth the cost. Sam Ortiz
